Philosophy
Republicans who hold power in this state, gain office by claiming Libertarian
ideals. They use phrases in their campaign materials like "I truly believe
you can spend your money more wisely than the government can." But then
when they get in office, they spend ever-increasing amounts of your money.
Republicans have learned a new code phrase: common sense. Common sense
in the new Republican lexicon really means: "Look out, I'm about to pass a
law that will take away more of your freedoms, your money, personal control
over you life -- or all of the above!"
As a real Libertarian, I will not only talk about responsibility and freedom,
but once in office, I will actually vote that way.
