Philosophy

My platform is as simple as it is ambitious -- to restore liberty to the people of Colorado. They know what they want -- let them be free to find it.

Reducing or when possible, eliminating taxes would allow people to keep the money they work so hard to earn. They could then spend their money on those things important to themselves and their families rather than having to surrender it to local and state governments to spend on those things that are important to a bunch of bureaucrats.

It should also be left up to the individual as to how to get the best education for their children. The government school system has proven to be a dismal failure as local school boards spend more and more tax money each year while children learn less and less.

One thing the state does leave to the individual is the defense of themselves and their families against violent criminals, since the police either can not or will not provide that necessary protection. However, the state and local governments are doing all they can to disarm the law-abiding, peaceful citizens by passing various gun control measures. When was the last time any violent felon obeyed any of the gun laws?

It is long past time for the government to stop micro-managing the lives of the citizens and allow them to pursue happiness as they see fit. After all, who knows better what you want out of life than you?
