Kathleen Pierce Libertarian Candidate in 2004 for State Senate – District 35

• Principal Beliefs

  I would like my career to be noted for its honesty and commitment to personal responsibility. When people do not take responsibility for their actions, they allow further government interference in our lives. I want to work to reduce government interference in all our lives.

• On the Issues

  • Band-aid laws: I want to reduce the number of laws passed that seem designed to make people "feel" better about an issue, without actually addressing the root of the problem. For example – hate crime laws; it's already illegal to assault or murder someone, regardless of motive.

  • Second Amendment: I am opposed to any interference in our Second Amendment rights and feel that any infringement is contrary to our Constitution and our personal safety.

• Brief Bio

  I was born in Denver in Nov. 1963 as a 4th generation Coloradan. I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1982, and from Arapahoe Community College in the late 1980's (degree in History, minor in Science). I have worked in a variety of positions in restaurants, warehouses, and offices in the Metro area; the last few years as a lead automotive evaluator – supervising test crews and testing automotive performance, reliability, and safety. I am currently single with no children, though I enjoy the company of my many nieces and nephews.
